XSCREENSAVER 2.34 (27-DEC-1998)

Screen Saver & Locker - Author: Jamie Zawinski jwz@jwz.org
Licence: Free usage and copy (see Copyright notices into source files)
VAX: DEC C 5.0, VMS 6.1, Motif 1.2 - Alpha: DEC C 5.2, VMS 6.2, Motif 1.2-4
Optional software (3D library): MESA-GL 2.2

The purpose of xscreensaver is to display pretty pictures on your screen when it is not in use, in keeping with the philosophy that unattended monitors should always be doing something interesting, just like they do in the movies. However, xscreensaver can also be used as a screen locker, to prevent others from using your terminal while your are away.

This version features 70 graphic demos (plus 12 3D OpenGL demos). The OpenGL demos were built with Mesa-GL V 2.2 library available at the DECwindows Archive for VAX and Alpha, but you can use or rebuild Xscreensaver version 2.34 without Mesa-GL. Demos executables are no longer provided (due to their size), but you can easily relink from the provided object files (available for both VAX & Alpha). See the README.VMS file for details.
